Written by on Sunday, May 29, 2022

I’ve seen thousands of reviews over the years, but this actually explains “A Deadhead”…
“REVIEW: stella
As a new fan of the Dead it was years before I realized the importance
of the tears streaming down the face of the girl beside me. She seemed
have a religious experience. Now I know why”

Nine recordings and scant reviews. Reviews of this recording, remembering, too, that
beauty is also in the ear of the beholder…:
REVIEW: Ok recording
I was at this show. Though the lightning and thunder made the experience of this show
unique, musically it is a 3 at best. Garcia is tentative and confused, presaging the
doldrums of 1994/95, and widely stays low in the mix for much of this show. The
previous day was little better, the day after even worse.

REVIEW: Ode…
Hey! I was there for that and remember very clearly the clouds coming. I saw the sky turn
so beautifully nasty in almost a minute, just when the spanish jam was kickin in, then
they did a Rain and Snow jam for almost a minute! Remember Phil starting it? Great
time! True that God was there, as I saw the rain with my eyes! Cept we didn’t get wet
inside, and there wasn’t a roof! Man, what a great show. The rain mysteriously
disappeared bout half an hour after the show ended, and everyone left satisfied. First
shows on my own without any friends able to make it.

REVIEW: Release?
I toured pretty heavily from 90-94. This is one of the top 10 shows of that time period.

REVIEW: This was a great show!
The lightning show was the best. This was only Jerry show but I had an amazing time. I
went on 5-29 too but 5-30 was 10 times better. The lightning behind the stage was
amazing and it was amongst clouds with little bit of pinkish hues mixed in. Ill never
forget this…EVER!

From other recordings:
REVIEW: Thank you for fixing the pitch!
This show was spiritual.

REVIEW: was this show with santana?
i think this is the show i saw. dust storm on the lot. i threw 100 bandanas into the wind. it
was a fairly good show. the kid’s were loving it. i really missed brent at that time and was
trying to get used to vince welnick’s style. good show. lotta fun on the lot! love all yawl!

REVIEW: Santana was 1991, same venue
The Dead shows were during the day, Hot Tuna and the Radiators played the same
weekend at the Stardust Casino off the Strip at night, in 1991, made for an awesome
weekend of music in the hot desert sun.

REVIEW: Birthday Show
My one & only bday show; turned 25. I remember it was a bit stormy (a blessed relief
from the usual desert heat) and lightning crackled. During the 2nd set I was way up at the
top of the stands and during SOTM the sun broke through, beautifully illuminating
Sunrise Mountain just as Jerry was singing “I’d rather be with you”. Magical. One of my
all time cherished memories.

REVIEW: rolling thunder
Percussion percussion percussion WOWer
Terrapin station = deluxe exhibit of rolling thunder! Feeling it Mickey!
